"At 3 1/2 years of age my beautiful Great Dane required TPLO surgery (Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy) because he had ruptured his cruciate ligament (ACL in football players). He was very much like a AFL player, an extremely fit teenager. I was very skeptical of Hydrotherapy but my vet told me I should commence rehabilitation, this was after a follow up x-Ray at 10 weeks. "My poodle, Leo, was born with Cerebellar Hypoplasia. HydroPaws were incredibly gentle and patient with him, even suggesting I bring along his housemate to help boost Leo's confidence - which made a big difference. The sessions were wonderful for him;having someone else work with him helped build trust and gave him a new kind of support, beyond just the hydrotherapy- he benefited emotionally as well as physically. I noticed that after his sessions, when Leo would do a full-body shake(not trembling), he seemed to have more control. He didn't fall as hard and sometimes even remained standing, which hadn't happened before. His balance & ability to walk a distance without his back legs becoming stuck has definitely improved (his back legs sometimes don't respond smoothly due to the Cerebellar Hypoplasia).
